Who We Are
Bill is an entrepreneur, investor, diplomat, business mentor, author, passionate leader and speaker, with a distinguished record in business development and community activism. He is co-founder of CoderDojo, a global, volunteer-led, movement of community-based programming clubs for young people, and of the environmental charity, Weforest. A social networking pioneer, he co-founded and built Xing, one of his two unicorn companies, and launched the world’s first bio-tech accelerator, RebelBio. He is a general partner of SOSV, a venture capital fund of appx $1B and founder of the SOSV Momentum Pre-accelerator program. His current focus is quantum software.
Rod has operated in the investment industry as an analyst, strategic consultant, senior manager, corporate advisor, venture capitalist and entrepreneur. Since 1999, Rod specialised in the emerging impact investment field, and founded CLEARLYSO, Europe's leading impact investment bank which intermediated capital from investors to high-impact funds and enterprises. Rod has advised many companies, serving on the Boards of companies ranging from AXA Investment Managers and Winterthur Life (UK), and also as Chair of Justgiving, Shelter and Spacehive.
Caroline Varin is lecturer in International Organisations and Security at Regent's University London and Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (HEA). She is also a co-founder of the non-profit Professors Without Borders and the Head of Research at Inclusive Peace. Caroline is a member of the Geneva Consultation for Security Policy and has previous experience working in Intelligence Analysis, the Swiss armed forces and the UNHCR. Caroline holds a PhD in International Relations and an MSc in Comparative Politics from the London School of Economics, an LLM in International Law from the Universita di Bologna, Italy, and a BA in Political Science from the University of Pennsylvania.
